Baba Jaswant Singh Public Sen. Sec. school is established after the name of Baba Jaswant Singh Ji who was a great Saint. He was born on 4th December, 1932 at Raunta. His father's name was S. Bara Singh and his Mother's name was Smt. Ram Kaur. He went to Nanaksar Kaleran (Jagraon) in 1950 where he met Baba Ishar Singh Ji, He served Baba Ishar Singh Ji, very devotedly. After that in 1959, Baba Isher Singh Ji gave him the responsibility of Nanaksar Thath, Barnala. According to the wish of Baba Jaswant Singh Ji, the trustees decided to open the school at his birthplace at Raunta.
